The Origin of Sound
The Origin of Sound is a 16mm film shot in India directed by my friend and collaborator Tomer Gendler. Besides being the main subject of this hybrid documentary, I wrote, produced and recorded all the music for the film, did much of the sound, and helped produce and write it with Tomer and others.
The film was sponsored by Air India, who provided transportation in exchange for the exclusive right to air the film on their international flights. The project received support from The Joseph Campbell Foundation, the Esalen Institute, Hartwicke College, and Fuji Film, without which the project would never have been made.
I gave an extensive interview about the film here.
The following videos are products of the creative journey that has been The Origin of Sound. Full screening details will be available soon.
